Hey y'all.

I'm starting a little Minerva Amaryllis project. Yesterday, somebody gifted me a Minerva Amaryllis planting bulb kit:

Sorry about the blurry pictures :hide
The kit came with a pot, soil (when you add 3.5 cups of water to the disc of soil, it expands to fill the entire pot. Pretty cool! ), and the started bulb.

Do y'all want updates on MA's growth? (I'm gonna call it MA from now on :) [Minerva Amaryllis]) Hopefully I will be able to do weekly updates.

I just planted it:weee:pop:caf
I present to you, Baby MA!:

Don't be discouraged if it doesn't flower for you This year. Sometimes this happens, but if you take care of it, it usually flowers the following year. I like to oversummer mine in a bed, then bring it inside before the first freeze. Greenhouse flower gardeners tell you to cut off the tops, pull it from the pot, knock all of the dirt off, and store it in the same (now no dirt) pot, on it's side, in a cool, dark place for about 10 weeks. Then you can start all over again.
Good luck!

good luck, depending upon your location it might be hard to keep this plant going well indoors through the cold of winter, it may need additional lighting until the sun gets stronger.
Thank you!
