This is the second year my grandsons 5 1/2 and 2 1/2 helped plant the potatoes. I guess that makes it a tradition. Great helpers.

How adorable! Whenever I am harvesting potatoes, I wish my nephews could be with me. I think they would like the idea of finding treasure in the dirt! Those are sure to be the best potatoes ever!

I bought it at a garden show many years ago. I do not take careful care of it and it has lasted for years.

I also saw a copy sold by williams sonoma. It did not look as sturdy. I use it continuously.
For potatoes and carrots and the like I can rinse them easily with a hose before bringing them inside. And the boys love it too.
