A decade after selling my last horse I'm back in the saddle again, and it's a wonderful feeling. :)

This is Luke, I brought him home a little over a month ago. He's a buddy horse and we have made a great connection. He's a good ride, really eager to get out on the trail and keeps a snappy pace up. Such a blessing to me as I had thought my riding days would stay in the past, but here I am again!

Buddy horse?
Yep. He greets me at the gate, comes over for rubs when I'm cleaning his pen, lowers his head right into the halter, and when I bridle him his mouth is open before the bit is even close.
I find it very complimentary that he enjoys and seeks out my company.

Since my mare died my Rascal stays near us and seems to like when I just hang on him and hug him. He was always pretty friendly but if he caught wind of an impending ride he would suddenly have to go off and graze. I plan to ride Wed. He seems fine from his first distraught state when we lost her. Wonder if he'll be less stubborn now that I'm his best pal.
