I had to take my bag push mower in twice in one month for repair. We've had too much rain, and I keep getting grass clogging it up. THIS time, I had banged it around so much that I had disconnected the carborator!!
The gentleman at the mower shop told me to put a nozzle that locks on the end of my water hose, and place it at the edge on the ground so it sprays into the bottom of the mower. Start the mower and secure it to run unassisted. He said that the blades and the water will clean it, so I don't have to disconnect the spark plug, and risk my hands by the blade. I tried it this morning--works great!!
Thought I'd share.
He also said that new, and better mowers have a place to put the end of your hose and do the same. I know that my John Deere riding mower already has this.
