What makes it a fungus and not shroom?
Always thought these looking types were shroom and fungus more like molds n such...lol.

    I heard they are medicinal in some way. 2015-10-11 02.16.47.jpg 2015-10-11 02.17.05.jpg 2015-10-11 02.17.19.jpg

I have no clue to why something is a fungus vs mushroom vs anything else. They sure are pretty!

A mushroom is a fungus (the part we see and consider a mushroom being the fruiting body of one, anyway), but not all fungi are mushrooms. Yeasts and molds are included under that category too. A turkey tail is actually a mushroom. I guess they are being studied for use against cancer. Folks in my mushroom group talk about making a tea from them.
