WEED PULLING CONTEST!!!

Ok! Here is how the weed pulling contest works:

The winner is the one who can fit the most weeds in one hand!
All the weeds pulled must be pulled within one hour!

Second place winner is the one who can fill the most 5 gallon buckets within the space of one hour.

All weeds must be pulled up by and including the roots. Incidental root breakage is acceptable for this contest.

Third place winner is the one who can show they made the biggest difference in weed patch messiness to neatness. This award must be determined by consensus.

(I'm not really eligible since I don't have enough weeds to fill a handful)

Oh and here I thought you would volunteer your garden for the challenge! After 3 days of near steady WET weather the garden is mucky. I will have to wait a day of two to out there. Not too long though or the ground gets hard and ALL the roots break off.

I think all the contestants should come to my garden, for a warm up round! You know, just to make sure you are stretched and limber enough for the competition....

Marshall can remove himself from the contest on the basis of injury and because the soil surface under his beans hasn't seen any sunlight in weeks!

Not only is he in a forest clearing but vines by now must be clinging to the underside of the netting over the top of the garden.

Nothing could grow in the complete shade down on the ground. Nothing that is except . . . . . . . . . . oxalis. We should have our next TEG gardener to fly over northern California sprinkle oxalis seed out of the window of the airliner. Yes, that's it.

I guess I can't participate. I don't have any weeds. Really, I don't. We get all excited when we find a blade of grass in the rice straw mulch that I use. The blade goes to the chickens!

Oh Digit! Not Oxalis! How about sprinkling different varieties of wild blackberries and raspberries seeds all over my garden instead, from all around the world!
