Last week we had a hard freeze here. 17 degrees F.

And my poor Morning Glory Vines are very unhappy!
I hope they come back in the spring.

I thought morning glory are an annual? Or can they really take the cold.

The "normal" Morning Glory is an annual. These are a perennial type. That have really LONG vnes!
and bright blue flowers, like the Heavenly Blues.

I got some cuttings years ago from a neighbor. And, so far... they have come back each year.
They do not put out any seed, grow very nicely from cuttings.
Make roots in water within three days when the weather is warm.

I also have a European Bush Morning Glory. that puts our a lavender/pink flower.

GT, you and I may be living in a world apart!

I always thought they were annuals! Bindweed is perennial. But, I've grown Morning Glories and they died at the end of the season.

where it is after 10am and 19F, after a fairly warm winter night . . .

wow, i think we get something related to that over here in the Northeast! but i've been referring to it as a type of invasive potato vine. ours does get small flowers that look like the white/pink one you posted a link to. but i think the flowers are much smaller. they will grow through anything and not stop unless you get the whole plant. very deep taproot too. :/

Chickie's, that sounds like wild morning glory/bindweed. So, similar- yet so different! Hope they come back- I just love that archway... always reminds me of a fairy tale.

Did you build that arch? I love it!
Yes, All by myself... with some direction from my engineer husband,
he had me add some supports so it wouldn't "lack structural integirty"
(Being translated "so it won't blow over when he is parked next to it!)

There must be an old post on here of my building it... let me see if I can find it.

This one has the "improvements" I added.

Very cool thank you! I've been wanting to do some kind of entry way for climbing roses into my garden or another area, we' haven't decided yet. I'm FAAR from an engineer so your husbands input is important and helpful.
