What would you ask?

I have an older 2 horse trailer that we "semi" converted into a utility trailer after I sold my last horse. It could still be used for small stock or easily turned back into a 2 horse. Some rust, mostly manger area, solid original wood floor under the painted layer. It used to have electric brakes but I'm not sure they work anymore. Needs tires.
Similar 2 horse trailers are going anywhere from $500 to $2500 in this area. I didn't see many comparable utility trailers (i.e. homemade with a roof;)).
Would you use a trailer like this? If so, for what? How much would you ask for it?

Just trying to get a good idea on how to run the ad... :idunno
and of course, it is for sale, please inquire within!! ;)

Axle weights? 3600#?
Wiring and lights work?

New trailer-14'-with 3600# axles is about $2500-2700.
4 trailer tires-$500+.
New brakes-$500+
Wiring-$300

Reason I know, thief stole my trailer, checked on new. When police found it, had to do cost of fixing. 5200# axles ups value $1500+.

Every area is different. In Indiana-$500 trailer.

I bought a 92 Logan Malibu (2 horse straight load) in January for 1k.
It has some rusting in the manger, and surface rusting on the roof, but is otherwise totally serviceable as a horse trailer.

I'd list it for 1k and see what kind of response you get. You can always lower your price.

Those kind of trailers in my area, in similar condition, are listing between $700-$1000 on Craigslist. Looked at several ads. Didn't seem like anyone knew the axle weight in the descriptions.

List it high people will email you what they are willing to pay. I just listed a desk for $50 on CL the 1st reply offered $20. I told them if desk had not sold in 2 months they could have for $20. Desk sold that day for $50

Good points @thistlebloom and @Nyboy, I don't hav'ta to accept the bid if'n I don't likes it!! Right now DH would PAY to get it out of his way, LoL. Good thing it's my trailer...;) Going out this morn to check out the wiring... @seedcorn hit a nerve there. I can fix the lights myself if they aren't working and at least see if the electric brake is even still attached.
What I really want to do with it is park it in the backyard and get a couple mini nubians, or babydoll sheeps that can use it for a barn...:hide (No wonder DH want's it gone!)

Not intended to make you mad but the reality of what it would be worth in Indiana. I'd suggest fixing anything you can before showing. The more things wrong, the more a buyer should be worried about things that aren't listed.....

I spent $500 fixing things on my trailer when the trailer still looked new-a lot of support bolts, bearings, washers were starting to show wear. Unless you stay up on maintaince, it can be cheaper to buy new-just my opinion. Good luck on selling it.
