Hello, I live in Idaho and it full on spring here. I noticed my friend and a neighbor have blossoming apricot trees. I've just moved in to my current home (farm!) and have multiple fruit trees on the property. Two of them are apricots and they havent even started coming on.

Are there many different 'species' with different blooming rates?? :tools

Usually all Apricots bloom early in Spring.
Some might bloom a little earlier or later.

Hope this helps!

My first thought before I read your post was "way too early"! After having read the post, I really don't have a good answer, just some observations.

The neighborhood I live in is FULL of apricot trees of varying ages (and I imagine types). My trees seem to bloom a good 2 weeks earlier than every one else's. Mine have just finished blooming and I noticed yesterday that the next door neighbor's trees are just starting to flower. The only thing that I do know for certain is that I have the oldest trees in the area. Most are probably 30+ years old. (Sure do love the person that knew I would want to live in a forest!)
