Can you folks tell me for sure if this is Wisteria. It smells wonderful.

I think if you click on the picture it will start a slide show.

Sorry, my dialup does not like your photobucket slideshow :p, but from the thumbnail shown above it sure looks like it -- if it is a woody vine with downward-hanging flowering thingies and compound leaves, then for SURE it is wisteria. And I am pretty sure it is.

Totally jealous :) (for all its faults, I do love wisteria and it's very annoying I can't grow it here),

From what I see... yes that is wisteria.

Its extremely invasive here and we have jungles of it killing trees along the highway. But gosh darn it is PRETTY!!!! :D

Yup. That's wisteria. And many kinds do smell pretty. I believe the Japanese (wisteria floribunda) varieties are even more fragrant than the Chinese (wisteria sinensis.) That looks like Chinese Wisteria because it doesn't have many leaves yet while it has flowers. The Japanese variety has more leaves when it flowers.

They do get big! Boy, are they beautiful! Not invasive here, just fast and large growers, but we have far less rainfall.
