With a swirl on top

Over the years of keeping chickens, I've seen a lot of weird eggs, but this one is a first! She added a swirl, like an ice cream cone. It is hard as eggshell. Found it under the coop, not in the nest, so it must have been a surprise.

This hen has laid almost daily, at least 6 eggs a week. She's been a good girl. This batch of hens is approaching about 2 1/2 years old now. Their replacements are coming up. Been seeing a lot of very tiny wind eggs this year too out of one of the blue egg layers.

Interesting hiccup in the chicken's egg laying machinery. I've had bits and pieces of extra shell attached like that is, but never that much nor so artistically placed.
