This plant is growing in a creek bed, and it's about 6 feet tall now (ish). When you rub your fingers on the stem they smell like Vick's Vapor Rub. It has a very distinct smell.

I've looked on the LBJ search, and i've looked for yellow asters, which didn't match.

Anyone recognize this?

i know.

but y'all are no help.
:)

I am clearly going to have to become an herbalist or a botanist or something and create my own website for identifying this stuff. I have looked at so many pictures, and i can't find this stuff that just spontaneously grows in my ditch!
