I have posted pictures here for 2010 and 2011 when I started gardening in raised beds. So here is my 2012 Spring Pictures!!!

The ugly Sweetgum tree is gone, thank goodness! I have more sun and won't have anymore of those sweetgum balls to twist my ankle on! I have several new boxes and found a source for vermiculite so we are going to see how these new boxes produce compared to the others. I may add vermiculite to them for next year. We got the drip line installed and 16 tomatoes planted, 4 Terrific F1, 4 Chadwick Cherry, 4 Opalkas, and 4 Cherokee Purple.

My green peas are starting to flower, but it's going to be 90 degrees today. I don't know if they will hold on to produce.

The asparagus bed has been producing a nice amount of asparagus for us to eat fresh about once a week.

The lettuce is really taking off, but yesterday was wilted by 2:00 PM. I believe it's too hot. One Pak Choi is going to seed.

Can't wait for the first strawberries to ripen.

One new bed made of logs we cut down in my back yard and stacked 2 logs high, it's nice and deep.

Looking good! I love the idea of the logs for the raised beds- reuse, recycle! We are back to cold weather- enjoy your warm temps...

Hay! My garden is similar to yours by design. I'll try to get some photos up in the next few days!

Do I go ahead and plant a couple of rows of carrots down the middle of my tomatoes now or later? I'm going to put in a couple of basil on the ends. I have a few in my lettuce bed that might make carrots before the heat sets in.

I made 2 "global buckets" this weekend and planted two pepper plants in them as my experiment this year. I always do something with buckets every year and have yet to find a good system, lol.

I planted all my herbs; cilantro, parsley, oregano, dill, and rosemary. I have large 24" pots and should contain a lot of herbs for me to dry this year. It's my first time planting anything other than cilantro and basil (which I grew those for the first time last year). I'm going to try to plant something everyday this week after work. It's supposed to be rainy this weekend and I want to get my pepper starts in the ground.

Sometimes I read things all wrong. I planted cilantro, but didn't realize what succession planting was. This year I'm prepared. I started a few in a egg carton and when I planted my little plants I also threw in a few seeds and as I harvest cilantro I'll put a few more seeds to have non-bolted cilantro for as long as I can.

Sometimes the obvious escapes me. If I don't understand the "why" and just don't understand at all, lol. Good luck with your cilantro this year! Remember succession planting.

That's exactly why I needed to put some more in. I have a very nice cilantro plant going right now, but with the warm weather here it's going to bolt before too long. If I don't have new ones coming along behind it I'll be without salsa until the new ones are big enough to harvest.

We harvested radishes and onions out of our garden yesterday evening for supper tonight. We also have one baby tomato on one of our tomato plants. :tools We are so excited! :ya My 15 yr. old son was telling me last night that it is too early to start harvesting. I told him that is the reason I planted the coldweather stuff first. I start most of our stuff from seed. The rest of the garden is up and we can't wait to start harvesting those too! Lettuce is almost ready!:watering
