I enjoy growing annuals indoors during the winter, just to defy Mother Nature. This flower is a Pinwheel Zinnia. I also have a Sunshade Calendula and a Dianthus coming along.

That's awesome! Please share your method, do you have grow lights? Greenhouse? What flowering annuals work best?
I grow them hydroponically along with lettuce, herbs and other greens using LED and fluorescent grow lights. Mostly I look for small annuals under 12" high, and I have grown zinnias, calendula, marigold, dianthus, calceolaria and many others. I guess if you can grow something outdoors you can grow it indoors as well.

There are photos on my blog if you are interested:
