I'm new here and live in idaho. Gardened in the past but quit for a few years. I'm building a whole new system this year to get back into it. Mainly to fight our bad rocky ground where only weeds grow and my many ducks. Working on raised beds and a greenhouse. I haven't figured out the greenhouse part. I have a metal hoop frame but not sure yet how I'll cover it or set it up, and wether I can leave it up all summer or it will need uncovered. But I'm determined to have a decent weed and duck free garden! The ducks and horses can enjoy the leftovers. :)

Welcome to TEG, Jellybean!

You may be looking at the same sort of start to a growing season a lot of us TEG gardeners are. I hope we can all figure it out together.

What kind of covering are you thinking about for your hoop house?

Hi, glad you found us. There are several good greenhouse threads on here that might be of help. And several folks have greenhouses.

Welcome Jellybean! :frow
Your soil sounds like mine- oh, yeah, we're in the same state! I'm up north between CDA and Sandpoint.
I'm no help with the greenhouse, but getting one is on my wishlist.

I'm thinking a heavy duty tarp covering, not the cheap stuff that will break down and blow away. I need to figure out if there's plants I can grow in it all summer, wether I need to take it down in the summer will make a difference in how I put it up. I've been searching the forums and learning a lot!
