V, I hope you are feeling better. Those muscle spasms can be terribly debilitating. I have a couple of suggestions. One is: If it hurts to sit due to slouching, you might try sitting on an exercise ball. They keep your back straight and you exercise your side muscles a little.
Also, when I have muscle spasms, I find that moist heat works better than ice. You can heat slightly wet towels in the microwave. Another thing I have found helpful is a TENS unit. I bought one about 8 years ago for neck pain, but have used for many different pains. They probably cost about $70 by now. This is often what a chiropractor uses for therapy. Relax, it's a good news! Mucsle spasm is way better than heart attach after all) I hope you'll feel better soon
