Ooh, dead peacocks! That must have been tragic.

I am a little surprised that the mice find their way into the coop. A little surprised but not much - they'd have to do some climbing to get onto the "porch" but then would have easy access by way of the pop door, which I seldom close in this not-so-cold winter. The outside door on the coop side doesn't always fit tight because the shavings jam in the frame and freeze. I'm sure that the mice don't need even 1/2" to squeeze under that door. Once they are in during the night there should be plenty of food to fill up on even tho' I hate to think of them being able to jump high enuf to reach the hanging feeder.

Twelve may have been the limit of them. The coop might have lured every one that hung out around the neighbor's garbage can, on the other side of the fence. I haven't caught another in 3 days and so will put the traps into the garage and see what the result of that is.
