I know all these new blackberry cultivars are all the rage. My neighbor even put them in. I just can't see it!

This is Oregon. Blackberries are practically a scourge. Hearing all this about pruning them and cultivating them suddenly makes me feel blessed.

Our pruning method....
Drive bucket loader at them. Hope to push them back 20 feet. Come back in summer and pick the beasties! LOL

Catfish your garden is lovely. Sometimes I dream of having formal gardens like that. I remember my 3/4 acre back in the day with a terrace garden, a cut flower garden and a food garden. It was pristine. I would homeschool the kids in between weeding. I spent 40 hours a week in that garden. Now with 5 farmable acres and 2 acres of "yard/deer food" I am lucky to see it manageable--far from pristine. So wonderful to see you photographs. I'm greeeeeeen!

Yea April, we have the so called wild blackberries around here too. Rumor has it that the most of them are Loganberry reverted back to blackberry. Yes, I have one of them in my patch.

Me, I want to have as big a diverse group as I can get into my north row.
