Shallots are one of the veggies I don't have a lot of experience with but I planted some this Spring. Today I was making stew and ran out of onions so I went to the garden and pulled one of the shallots. WHOA. I thought shallots were supposed to be smaller than onions.

You have been treating that one too kindly, Hoody!

It doesn't even look like it is finished growing! Maybe you should have a conversation with those critters about shalls and oughts!

If'n you've got very many of those out there in the shallot patch and don't get them to toe the line, you may soon feel like that lonely little petunia.

Steve ;)

I'm jealous. My onions are the same size as when planted last spring, a fraction of that shallot's size. You must have worked on your soil.

This year I started by turning over sod in soil that has been nothing but lawn for around 30 years. It was tough going cutting into that old bermuda grass but it's paying off.
