Hey, all,

My lemon verbena came through the winter quite nicely. It's starting to put in a few new leaves already. But it's got a lot of straggly-looking "branches" and I was wondering if I trimmed it back like you would any herb that started to get leggy, will it thicken up and bush out rather than looking kind of like an untrimmed forsythia?

Or should I leave it alone? Anyone?

My lemon verbena always comes thru a winter of sitting on the floor of an unheated greenhouse (with a blanket thrown over it on the coldest days/nights) looking like the Wreck of the Hesperus :/!

It takes a fair amount of pruning on it to shape it up, Freshfood.

It's worked for me for about 4 years to just go after the lemon verbena with the clippers.

. . . hope that helps.

I seem to have the same problem with mine, although it looks as i will have to replace it and get a new one. I left it outside and didnt know it would get so cold that night, it might come back hopefully.
