I have been working on a mug rug for a swap. It is quilted and a paper pieced hummingbird, that my husband thought looked like a dog. My swap partner is in England so the trip will be across The Pond.

The wing and tail look black but is really a dark irredescent green.

Thanks, a mug rug is bigger then a coaster smaller then a placemat, used to place a coffee cup and a cookie or biscuit.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Boy, that sure put the size in a different perpective! I had no idea what a mug rug was either, and was picturing it like a full sized quilt! It's beautiful, either way!

So fun! Must be hubby didn't notice the beak! I think Marshall has correctly identified the species!
