What did YOU do in your garden today :P

FINALLY HARVESTING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Picked enough squash over the last few days to put up 5 gallon bags in the freezer!
(not packed full... but STILL!)

Harvesting a few things, - the end of the peas, first summer squash and an eggplant!
Check out this before and after, just over 6 weeks of growing:

After (taken from the opposite end). Some of the tomatoes are taller than me already. The hoop house is 10 feet center height:

Corn, squash, melon. Before:

After. Difficult to walk around in there:

Picked beans.
I got a grand total of 27! Not buckets or pounds or even handsfull - 27 beans.
Washed, dried and put in a ziplock sandwich baggie. These are the very first from my little bean patch so I'm hoping that I'll eventually end up with enough so that I'll get to use my new canner.

That's fantastic Bucka'! What a beautiful sight that is.:)

Every year I say "someday soon I'm getting a greenhouse or a hoophouse"... there sure seem to be a lot of other things thrown in the way in the meantime. Car repairs, dentist bills,
more fun stuff like that.

Maybe next year.:)

Wow, that's awesome! @buckabucka I love how that happens when the conditions are just right (heat and water) and you can literally measure the growth overnight. :)

Do you have less bug/disease problems using the hoop houses? They all look so healthy and perfect.

Didn't get anything done in the garden today. . .yet.

Late yesterday we were served papers regarding the neighbor's property dispute with us. This is so stressful, especially with DH having problems since his fall and brain bleed. I feel like it's up to me to do everything. Sigh!

I should get out for a while and at least pull weeds. That is sure to distract my mind.

There is less disease that would be associated with excessive rainfall (fungal problems, blight), but the bugs seem to find their way in without any problem!
I have been crushing cucumber beetles daily in one house. At first, I was very thorough. Now it is like a jungle, so I just try to spot-check the flowers here and there.
One benefit, at least so far, is that the raccoons haven't come after the indoor corn.

Picked Roma green beans and kohlarobi. Marveled at my 4ft tall zucchini plants...and wandered impatiently through the tomatoes...ate the lone ripe black cherry
