unrelenting cold and snow, Northeast

We have had 20 days of below zero, in the morning. This is not the way I like to wake up!! Presently getting another 6 to 8 inches of snow. Believe me when I tell you, there is no place left to put the damn stuff! I am so ready for some nicer weather. However, there is no end in sight. Mary- I used to like you!!!

It's 78 degrees here at sundown. I'm afraid my husband has gotten heat exhaustion from working outside today. This usually happens later in the spring, not in February! The agarita berry bushes have begun blooming so I hope they are wrong about the cold and ice coming on Monday. I'm not sure how I'll fit all those vegetable starts back into the greenhouse, they have a way of expanding!

Well it was 70° today and I was sweating planting some annuals! Had to stop and will continue tomorrow. Too hot for me. lol

I'd rather have excessive cold than excessive heat any ol' day and twice on Sundays. Fat girl don't do heat and humidity too well. I'm built for northern climes, I'm afraid. I'm probably one of the few folks out there right now not wishing for summer....I wilt in the summer.

@Beekissed. I do not do heat and humidity well either. I just don't tolerate the extremes. So, saying that, I like spring and fall best. 70 and 78 degrees doesn't really sound too hot though. When it can get into the upper 90's with matching humidity around here. ugh. I imagine it gets very warm where @flowerweaver is come summer.

@thistlebloom LOL! Sorry to hijack the thread with heat, but I was hoping it might thaw everyone out!

We don't have humidity here @Beekissed that's why it's easy to get heat exhaustion, because you don't think it's really all that hot at first. It sneaks up on you. This kind of heat this early is odd. @Carol Dee is correct, our summers can be unbearably hot. July through September we garden early in the morning and late in the evening as it is often well over 100 degrees. And we wear sombreros!

My DH is from northern WI and our DS and his family live in Chicago so I've experienced some blizzards and don't know how you all do it. Shoveling snow instead of dirt this time of year is foreign to me. I don't like the heat all that much being from California but I prefer it to the cold. It seems less inconvenient.

Yes, I love the changing seasons also. Summer to fall is also beautiful. Fall to winter is a tough one for me, although the first snow is usually pretty (as long as it doesn't come in October!)
