Well she had a bowl of dirt she stuck in the freezer so she could understand how fun winter is for us real gardeners....

I have used a hair dryer on pipes. I have a real heat gun but would never use indoors near flammables.

Snow stopped and the sun peeped out. @thistlebloom I didn't even have to play with bowl of dirt in the freezer! I have 8 acres of snowy icy dirt!

always have a good laugh going to the store when a snowstorm is predicted. we ended up with 6"
this is what the store looked like at 5 last night. just think what it looked like at 10pm.
you would think the world was coming to a end......

it's amazing how 6" of snow shuts down the whole region,been watch the news ,the message board on the bottom shows everything closed..

@majorcatfish , it is good to be prepared for a disaster. I have heard about the food rush, never actually seen it. 6" is pretty much a non event here, just takes you longer to get home from work, so you don't bother stopping at the store. Now, seeing only 2 bottles of Hershey's syrup left, THAT would be reason to panic!
