The replanted sweet corn is coming up! Was worried there for a few minutes that it wouldn't.

Some tomatoes are blooming and some beans came up but they look poorly, maybe from being planted into this composted manure? Never had beans look so piddly before.

Did a urine foliar spray this morning on the plants that need it right now due to setting bloom at this point or getting a certain height/being high nitrogen feeders(corn). I had about forgotten urine, but renewed my study on it and found it had the potassium and phosphorus I was looking for in these pepper plants, so gave them a squirt too!

Transplanted some Ozark Beauty strawberries into the garden this morning, as well as some marigolds in amongst the tomatoes. Finally counted how many maters I had actually set out and they number 51.

Will build a screen of a sorts today in order to screen out the larger particles of litter in the coop, so I can scoop up the really fine, powdery stuff to be found there. I want to use it to side dress plants and such. That's what this Paul guy(I call him that because his last name is impossible to spell

) does from the stuff in his run.

Bee, are you side dressing after the chips are down? I'm assuming you just push the wood chips aside, lay the compost, and then cover it up again with the chips?

No, I'm placing it right on top of the chips next to the plant in most cases, though some of the places have the chips pulled back still due to the seedlings being too small to pull the chips into them just yet.

We are getting so much rain here (every day and will be doing so for the next 10 days...maybe more, as my forecast doesn't show any further than that) that the side dressing is getting washed directly into the plant and I can pretty much see the results, some even by the next day, as when I side dressed with the epsom salts and also with the wood ashes.

Oh, Mary! That's like the blind leading the blind right now. I'm new to this garden method too, so just feeling my way and trying to do it like in the film but also putting my own spin on things, per usual.

Haha Bee. I really need to stop worry about moving my wood chips and just remember to put whatever it is on top of them. I prefer to follow you blindly on this gardening method than anyone else! haha

Thank you! I'm happy to say that most of the plants that were showing difficulties are now pulling out of their nutrient problems and getting stronger. Since I threw everything at them but the kitchen sink, I'll never know which thing helped or if it was just time, but even the peppers are greening up and getting a little height on them...at least, many of them are. Some I don't think will ever recover.

The last thing I applied was diluted urine, as a foliar spray and also as a side dressing, so it could have been the turning point, but I'll never know.
