7-8.5 lbs each the one on the bottom right split carrying it from the garden to the house....
oh yes deliciously sweet.. 50/50 on doing them over next year....

Cold watermelon on any day. I'm cooking chicken legs and having (store) watermelon for supper 'cuz the Major didn't send me any of his luscious yellow ones. Gypsy is staying the day/night and baked a cake and made rice-krispy treats. I think the cake will go well with a couple of spoons full of fresh picked black-caps so off we go with our mosquito spray and buckets.

Yummy, Red your dinner sounds fine. Gypsy and I must be thinking alike as I just made Rice Krispy treat with the leftover marshmallows from the weekend s'mores. Then enjoy the wild black berries on ice-cream after dinner.

the variety is "new queen" from territorial seeds..
why 50/50 dont know at this moment.guess would like a large ripe crimson sweet instead? but with all these pop up thunderstorms have lost too many 12 to date.
ask me next spring what type of melons we are going to plant..
as for the flavor excellent have had better, but this is our 1st year...learning curve...

yes i could send everyone a melon through " ups", but all your going to get is a yellow messy wet box... with that said.... no delivery..
so it's first come first served, @MontyJ could have been the first BUT NO @dewdropsinwv had his chip programed to come home right away....

My first year melons (and my last) were the size of grapefruit. Trust me, those are a fabulous success!
