I can't quite tell if it is a trap. something looks odd about the setting, though.
That's a beautiful lake. So blue, it almost looks unreal.

No, not a trap at all... just the hoof is placed on the rock with moss at the outside edge of the hoof. By the way, that "sheep" is a wild mountain goat.

Look at the area of the right rear hoof. Is that a metal trap?

Clicking on the photo, then pressing on Ctrl and + sign to enlarge the area at the right rear hoof ... there is NO metal trap. The hoof is resting on the rock and moss is at the very edge of the hoof.

It's hard for me to see anything but if it's a trap that mountain sheep/goat doesn't look too bothered.
