I used to put my clippings in water but these past 10 years I have had better luck putting them in pots off soil.

Thanks everyone for the good comments.

They grow so beautifully big by end of summer, I love it. I have had that coleus in the past but haven't seen it out there lately...It sure is beautiful.

I have a cloning machine I use when starting a lot of cuttings but when only doing a few I just root in water, I've even rooted Clematis in water on the windowsill. Using the machine I've had fuchsias root in 4 or 5 days, Michaelmas daisies in 7 and we are not just talking one or two roots. The cuttings sit in little perforated cups and the nutrient water is constantly sprayed over them. I had a plexiglass cover made for mine to keep the humidity up, it almost cost as much as the cloning machine :th

@Nyboy will this do, https://www.google.ca/search?q=clon...AUIBigB#tbm=isch&q=aeroponics+cloning+machine I don't have a picture of mine at the moment, there are so many different styles of these, some quite reasonable, some not. I do advise getting one with a clear dome tho, keeps humidity up and evaporation down. A lot of people make their own, I've only used mine in warm weather, natural light out in my garden room. Inside you'd have to have it under lights. I can't think of the brand name of mine off hand it's been a couple of years since I've used it, mine uses the little mesh pots like this.

Hey I bet you can find one on Craigslist, ebay or Amazon cheaper than what I paid for mine. I've had mine for a long time and the price has come down on them. If mine is easy to get at I'll take some pics later.
