Seed catalog

I also received several catalogs.

"Too early," - a relative term for me ...

The two I have so far are
  • Harris
  • HPS
These are primarily directed to the commercial grower, altho any gardener may appreciate and benefit from their offerings. Both have 2016/2017 dates but that doesn't mean anything.

The HPS catalog worries me ... yes. It's from Jung's and that is a conglomerate, altho the varieties offered are nearly the same, one catalog to the other. HPS has larger packets and supplies. Soon, the other Jung catalogs will show up. Oh no!

Both of these outfits I've ordered from and they, along with Johnny's and Stokes have been the primary sources for my garden. I've always liked Pinetree but that wide choice of seed is in small packets. Inexpensive but small.

GWR, take a look at their books and other gifts. You might want to leave some hints around for something you would like for yourself :).

yep, got the Pinetree catalog yesterday too. strange that i didn't get FedCo yet & the past 2 years i get their tree catalog before any of them.

anyone order this year's Whole Seed Catalog yet? last year i was able to get a copy at Tractor Supply & i'm hoping i can get a copy there again this year.

Got my Pinetree last week. I've only ordered once from them about 5 years ago. It's not worth it for me to pay shipping when I use mainly starts. For a small garden I can get away with a couple of 6-packs.

Maybe the catalog is the way to go I don't care how they did they
are in Maine not podunk Washington state and I am not real nice
or empathetic till I have had my two cups

Don't forget the online catalogs, with no paper version.

Tomato Seed: I think of TomatoFest as being right at the top of the list. Sample Seeds has a real nice lady running it and she puts her emphasis on tomatoes and I enjoy the Tomato Growers paper catalog but take your time in looking through that one. Not every variety warrants a lovely picture. Check the Tomato Growers online catalog for everything they have to offer, complete with a description and photo.

TomatoFest has their annual sale right now with about half of their selection at very good prices. This link is to their mobile site: (LINK). You can find more attractive webpages by just starting at tomatofest.com but I don't know if they have the sale listed on it.

The Stokes catalog is here! I really like this company. It's selection is fairly unique but broad. Somewhat commercial growing orientated but they have everything in smaller packets, along with the larger.

The Sample Seed Shop, I can second that. One of my favorite places to shop. The packets contain more than enough seed and such reasonable prices, you can't beat that. Along with all those luscious tomato varieties she always has another 'new to me bean' I have to try, my order has been placed and is already on it's way :).
