Someone giving a financial speech one said grandparents and grandkids get along so well because they have the same enemy. . . the parents.
When suggesting older folks make plans for their estate he never mentions leaving the money to their children ("ungrateful little whelps'), but taking care if the grandchildren. . . the apple of their eyes.

Thank you NYboy, you are very kind. PMing you soon. Our granddaugter refers to my wife as "pumpkin pie grandma" ( she calls pumkin pie as Mmmmmm pie - her favorite pie ) and her maternal grandma as " silly grandma" . My wife is teaching granddaughter how to knit as she sits in pumpkin pie grandma's lap.
