Meet Pearl, New Horse

You're doing so well with Pearl, and like others, I know nothing about horses. But its the way you write and how I feel that I'm proud of you for saving her.

There were a lot of comments on her, someone would have snapped her up, but I got her first!

You can drive over there and look first, but the first one to pay is the new owner. I called and paid over the phone, the next day we went and got her.

Today marks two weeks that we have had Pearl. She has gained some weight and must feel better. The dogs ran all around her, Carson the puppy ran under her belly. She finally got annoyed when Trip went up behind her to sniff her back legs. Pearl laid her ears back , began a squeal and was raising her back leg. I snatched at the halter, AAHHNNNTTTT!!!!!! And she stopped as quick as she started.

She looks a lot better. I'm sure some of that is grooming, she cleans up well. But a lot is spirit too.

It helps when they signal they are getting ready to kick so you can do something about it. I had that happen when we took the Boy Scouts horseback riding. Mine started positioning herself to kick another horse with a Scout on top. I had time to adjust her thinking.

Bay, to me she already looks different. Doesn’t look skinny anymore.

Look at all that green. I was expecting sandy beaches. I guess those are a thing of the past with all the soil amending you have been doing.

I was just thinking how much your life and place has changed since you moved.

Yup. It's buying a pig in a poke, but what the heck, I'll that the chance.

I still have plenty of sandy beach front. LOL LOL Look closely, you can see the white patches. I had her on a patch of green so she could get a little grazing. I still have plenty of sand!

I have brushed her a little, but I am looking forward to her shedding out in the spring. She should really be slick by then.

The older I get the shorter I like my horses, haha.
