I absolutely CANNOT handle a tomato hornworm....(shudder) For a gal that can slaughter hogs, chickens and dig manure, getting grossed out by a tomato hornworm is more than a little incongruous. I pick them up with a stick and toss to the chickens.

We are just north of Tyler, across I-20. Would you please put your general location in your avatar? it helps us all to get a location, with the different planting zones and such. How long have you been in Alabama? My husband is 74 and didn't see running water or electricity until his family moved from Killen to Florence when he was 11 years old. LOL

Yes. They gross me out. Birds hunt them in the mornings when they are up in the tops of the plants. We saw a wasp eating a small one once.
