I re-homed my tiny flock of chickens last Sunday. A nice young single mom where DH works wanted them. She has 2 children, 12 and 7. I think they will all do fine.
We rehomed the 4 chickens we had here also. They where not all that happy here. They love the spacious yard and other chickens where they went.I re-homed my tiny flock of chickens last Sunday. You may have to ask yourself if you are happy or sad that they are gone.
To me, it's a sigh of relief that you don't have that responsibility and chicken poo to deal with anymore, but it's kind of sad that you don't have those fresh eggs and free fertilizer anymore.
That’s too bad. Bunch of chicken haters! LOL
If you spend much time on the sister chicken forum it doesn't take long to see how clueless a lot of folks are about chickens. It's not just city folks, some country folks really aren't what you think of as country anymore when it comes to chickens or other animals. While I admire many of them for trying, it often does not take long for the romance to meet reality. While they may have good motives (know where their food comes from and teach that to their kids or maybe teach kids about the life cycle) many should never have started.
