Hubby and I always wanted to go north NORTH :)...... we visited a few times Canada and we loved it!! so we started our migration process a couple of years ago. First we lived in BC for a couple of years but because the cost of living (specially housing) we decided to move to the east coast. Prices are way affordable but winters are harsher... you can't win them all I guess 😅. Although according to locals, temperatures these past years (particular this one) are nothing like they used to be..... less than 2 weeks ago the weather was perfect for a beach day and surprisingly the beach we went to was packed.... so I guess I have climate change to thank to for milder winters. But yeah, British Columbia housing prices are crazy crazy high, you don't even wanna know.

We were in the RGV, yeah, a place where many Texans don't consider it south Texas but something else.... hehe I get their point tho, it's more of a border area.
I was born in the Rio Grande Valley. That’s about as south Texas as you can get.

BC is becoming legendary for its cost of living. I'm a big fan of Maritimers, and have always enjoyed working with them. Such friendly people, they love to laugh. So musical too. I had a guitar teacher from Nova Scotia who I had such fun with, he'd call ice 'oyce' and car 'kur'. I have friends out there and bug them all the time about why they aren't out sea kayaking! First thing I'd be doing if I went there.

Thank your lucky stars you're not more inland, it's INSANELY cold here! And the prairies are even worse! - 50!

And yep... there isn't anything more south Texas than RGV no quesions 😆

Well, today we woke up to -17C (feeling) here in NB compared like 2C in Toronto and like -2C in Montreal hehehe. It was only because a temporarily weather even though :)

And yep, that's my reckoning so far, Maritimers are such friendly Canadians and musical too. This summer some locals have told me that NB is the capital of country music....... don't know if that's true but sure they love their country music. Recently, I learned that one of my favorite bands (Alvvays) is in fact originally from Cape Brenton..... small musical world huh

I was born in San Benito. That’s right down in the tip of Texas. My Mom graduated from Weslaco High School, my Dad never graduated, dropped out in 7th grade because his father kept taking him out of school to work in the fields.

Moving from the Rio Grande Valley, sub tropical climate, can grow anything, to Canada is one heck of a jump! I’m glad you like it!
