According to the latest forecasts, there are still about 20 days until the first frost. I think I will be able to collect some nice seeds.
In about another 7 days you could probably cut all the vines at ground level on Awahsohs Bear and they will dry much faster. You will wind up with beautiful and viable seed.

We had over 3 inches of rain this past week. I visited Bean Acres yesterday behind my deer fence and wow the soil was so wet and dark. It really stuck to my running shoes. I went around and pulled up some beans that grew like bush beans and hung them off the soil to dry. The P. Vulgaris pole beans that grew well including the limas I went around both raised beds and cut the vines at the soil line. The pods are pregnant with seed and it's time for them to give birth to dry seed.

I've had another project going the last couple of weeks. I bought a new cordless Black and Decker trimmer and thought it was time to clean up the fence lines and the base of the raised beds all the way around and make the place look a lot more professional. Took some photos and include two before and after's.

Looks really great @Bluejay77. It's amazing what a trimmer can do. DH does most of our trimming around here and I always marvel when he's done how much better things look after.

Yesterday I harvested the first dry pods of Rassacher Kipfler, Tuvagliedda Marrone and Socere e Nore della Majella.

Rassacher Kipfler from Steiermark, Austria - ripe pods...

... and some less ripe ones.

I'm still waiting for some later varieties such as Hallados Grandos, Murusieddu Rosso, Nasieddu Viola, Floreta or Ooty India 1.

And here are interesting Awahsohs Bear pods, long and thick. They still have some time to mature.

Gorgeous pods @Artorius! Looks like you'll get a nice harvest from those pods. I grew @Bluejay77 ’s Rassacher Kipfler bean last summer, I wonder if it's the same one. I don't remember anymore what color the pods were drying down. I don't think they were yellow though.

Well, I didn’t think there were any pods left to take pictures of in the garden but when we were out mulching retired poles this evening I saw a few that I hadn’t got a pic of. I’ve been wanting a good photo of Grandma Gina’s pods since I grew it in 2021.

When I planted La Vigneronne this spring I quickly discovered that some people consider it synonymous with a few other beans. It looked like Landfrauen might be one of them, and I grew that one in 2021 so I was a bit crestfallen I might have planted it again when I already had it, lots of it. But now that I’ve grown it I can see this variety is totally different.

Network bean Selugia. So glad these beans will make it.

Yessica’s Inca, which I direct seeded, and a bit late at that. I had not much hope for it until I saw this today. I think there’ll be enough seeds to mature so I can try again. This one might be a bit late for my climate, but I’ll need to try again to know for sure.

A nice surprise today, many of the Purple Kingsessing bean pods were dry and the seeds I did see were all well formed. The first batch of these seeds didn’t look as good, so I may yet get a nicer looking crop than the bowls of these I’ve seen on google images which are all misshapen and not filled out well. Next grow out, only the fat seeds get planted.

Am butting in here with a quick question. Is Tongue of Fire and Dragon's Tongue the same bean?
Your not butting in @colcol! We enjoy new bean people around here!

Tongue of Fire and Dragon's Tongue are different beans. Been awhile since I grew Tongue of Fire, but I think it's green with pink splashes as it dries. Dragon's Tongue, or Dragon Langerie, is a yellow wax bean with purple splashes on it.

Love to have you here. Stick around this place. There are so many people who read this thread and I wonder how much more interesting this thread could be if we could make contributors out of more of them.

You're so kind. Thank you!
And thank you for answering my question. I tried googling, but couldn't really figure it out.
@colcol
If you would like to find more information about Tongue of Fire bean on Google, try entering its original Italian name Lingua di Fuoco in the search engine.

Arikara Yellow dry bush beans did well with outstanding resistance to heat and drought, although in terms of colour the yellow is an incredibly subtle undertone on what is a tan coloured bean.

Northern Pinto was also able to produce a bumper crop, finishing much earlier than other beans. I had several pods with colour reversals, which for me was quite exciting. Am I correct in assuming that I should not plant the reversals? Or if I wish to I could segregate them and plant them in a separate patch, just for fun? Finding anomalies such as this one are really interesting.
