I probably should have tested for covid, but I never had a fever or really any symptoms of that. DS is not sick and has been around me all this time. DD thought she was catching something. Wesley has had a fever and symptoms of a cold, but he has not been around me. I just do a few things and then feel kind of weak or tired. I cough very rarely and a little something in chest or throat when I do. I guess some kind of virus. the weather is going to turn really cold next week and I sure hope I am over this by then.
I've had a sinus and chest infection since the 21st of December. Some filthy guy who wouldn't even wipe his nose was on the reception at a health spa and I'm sure I caught it from him.

So I spent my Christmas here with my animals. No complaints because I'm getting a little better.

Morning Y'all!
FH and I picked up LITTLE MS.BEAUTY yesterday! Yup, I said it seeing how the key was handed directly to me even though I'm not going to be driving her just yet but now with her telling us if we don't stay in the center of the lanes it's making me want to get my permit.
Today FH and I plus a couple friends are going to a wedding event so I'm excited.

Well last week (and again today) the Doc told me I should consider giving up alcohol & caffeine. Alcohol, no problem. But giving up coffee??? Still thinking about it. That's the only thing capable of transforming me into a morning person. Without it... View attachment 63192
Oh no! Do you have serious health issues that call for this prohibition? That would be the only thing that could induce me to follow this advice, and then I'd take it under advisement.

Unfortunately, yes. The Dr thinks there is room for optimism, but diagnosis is still ongoing. Coffee is one of my few remaining joys, so I pleaded my case... they suggest I at least cut down. If I can still have my right-out-of-bed coffee but no others, I'm OK with that. I've been drinking caffeinated sodas every day, those are out too (and good riddance).

good luck with the changes, i know how hard it can be to go from really pouring it down to not having any at all. chocolate is probably my main caffiene now and i'm not eating nearly as much of that as in the past either...

i'm glad i never much got into regular sodas so then i treat them as a once in a while drink at events instead of alcohol.

as for life in the morning i'm quite convinced that the clock doesn't start for me until about 10am even if i'm up earlier it doesn't feel like i'm really going until later.

Goood Morning. Several years ago, I shared my story about being told by the MD that I should stop drinking coffee. I struggled to make decaf an important part and did a somewhat okay job. I've done better more recently – cutting out the decaf ;).

Well, I was told then, about 7 or 8 years ago, "any kind" of coffee should be out. The problem was the stomach. So, trying to appreciate decaf was a first step. These days, I'm "limiting" my consumption to the caffeinated which I never cut out entirely. So, I've gone to LESS coffee.

It is a treat but I did drop it completely for 4 or 5 months. Yes, I certainly noticed the leveling of motivation (pleasure?). I did have 1 cup of oolong every morning. And, interest in herbal tea went into high gear. The neighbors probably realized nothing since a cup continued and continues to lead the way, when I walk to a vehicle and leave the property. @Zeedman , I can recommend the herbal tea treat.

BTW. My stomach discomfort didn't disappear during those months of abstaining. However, less coffee means less discomfort. NO coffee on an empty stomach. Long ago, I gave up the after dinnertime cup. The after breakfast cup is the most enjoyable and the stomach would appreciate it being ONE cup after breakfast and ONE after lunch.

And yes, with my 2nd breakfast habit taking the place of the workplace "coffee break," that is when I have coffee so it is hours after rising from bed. I have been and am, an early bird. And, I refuse and benefit from not allowing coffee to be a motivation for wanting to greet the New Day. Hello :frow. How Are You?

Steve
