The old stray cat I sometimes feed. Made sure he got my attention yesterday evening. It was the first time he's ever done that. It's not like him at all. I so wish Nancy and he got along I'd love him indoors with us

The photo very much reminded me of my parents' cat, Cuddles.
Yes, cats will squeeze behind you as you are sitting in a kitchen chair.
The problem with the picture is we don't see how the cat has access. Perhaps, another chair was moved but cats sure do like to rub against people, horses, dogs, whatever warm-blooded critter that may tolerate them.
