Tree v bush

Honest question: been trying to figure out when a plant is a bush vs shrub vs tree... or is it all semantics?

Shrub = bush: "They are distinguished from trees by their multiple stems and shorter height, less than 6–10 m (20–33 ft) tall ..." Wikipedia, referencing a dictionary of botany.

It qualifies this definition by noting environmental pressures which may limit tree growth.

There is a really great clue to help you to differentiate between the two: a tree usually has one trunk whereas a bush/shrub has multiple stems coming from the ground.
