Okay... so what you're saying is to refrigerate the seeds (for how long?) Do I place them in moist paper towels or just stick them in there in the package? After I cold treat them, then find a soilless mix at the garden supply store and place the seeds in that. The I cover them...but cover them...

Directions on my strawberry seeds: Sow seeds thinly in a fine soilless mix. Cover lightly and keep moist. Cold treat seeds prior to sowing. So can some one translate this into terms that I would understand. Soilless mix?? What else would I use? Sorry to sound like a ding dong...but when it...

Lol...I don't really need anymore trees either, Wildsky, I want them! I'd like to have a little Orchard. I'm even thinking about getting some of those patio citrus trees that I've seen in plant/seed magazines. Fruit is expensive and it'd be nice to save a few dollars and get better quality food.

I agree with Picco, we NEED a recipe section. Also a preserving/canning section...I would love to learn how to make raspberry preserves with my yummy raspberries.

I didn't know that Steve, thanks so much! I've always just bought started plants at a local farm, this will be my first year attempting a big garden and from seeds, too. New Gloucester is right down the road from me, I will definitely check them out. :)

Has anyone purchased seeds from them? OR where is the best place to purchase seeds and what's the best brand in your opinion? DH and I want to grow a big garden this year (we have grown just tomatoes in the past) as our attempt to become more independent and for fun.
