What is this sticky stuff on my Bird of Paradis???

Please help... I have 3 potted white Birds of Paradis that are kept indoors year round. Several months ago, I noticed my hardwood floor covered in something sticky. I thought the kids spilled a soda and left it there...so I wiped it up with a Clorox wipe. A few weeks after that, the same...

any luck with planting your poinsetta?

That is sad. Guess that is why I opted to give Norfolk Island Pines rather than Poinsettas to the neighbors....I hate knowing this little guy is pretty much doomed. sigh....

Your Pride and Joy Of The Season

OK, so how does this work? I carefully sew seeds for beautiful flowers and NOTHING. My 8-year-old daughter randomly sticks 3 white oak acorns in the dirt and a lemon seed from her tea...and VOILA! 4 magnificent little trees are thriving without a care in the world!!!! :)

I want to move a tree!

I've always followed my grandfather's advice to move trees when the "sap's down" which is at Christmas time. I rarely lose trees when I listen to him (of course there are times that I've cheated, and the trees paid the price). If you do move it, make sure you de-stress the tree by misting the...

    Ornamental Grass **PIX ADDED**

I've tried purple fountain grass too. Mine died and never came back. This plant has spikier leaves that are dark green, which is a good contrast to the purple/pink blooms. These guys are MUCH hardier than the purple fountain grass was for me.

    Ornamental Grass **PIX ADDED**

Oh, no no! It knows its manners. It grows in nice glumps....like a liriope or pampas grass might. I have decided to forget about running all over the state looking for it....we're going to divide them (when it's less than 100 degrees outside!!)

    Ornamental Grass **PIX ADDED**

Hello everyone.... New green-thumb here....quick question....I bought several ornamental grasses last year from Home Depot (who does not have them now) but they are evergreen, very spiky with deep purple feathery blooms this time of year. They grow about 4' high and 4' wide...and very...
