I'm working on putting some newspaper in mine. I'll dump the week's kitchen scraps in tomorrow. February 10th is when I order my worms! Can't wait!! :D
My chickens are fat lazy things, haha. My pile needed some attention bad! I was given the 'pleasure' of cleaning out the pantry so all this stuff was stale. The cheerios were from 2008. And as for the jam....the very middle of the jars were jam but some seemed to have liquified, I guess. It...
Like 3 boxes of old cheerios that I made soggy with some water
I put em in this thing
Then these
Then some water chestnuts and lentil soup
Baker's chocolate
Popcorn
Jam
What did you put in your compost today?
I can't wait for spring this year. I'm making all sorts of plans for my garden already and I am probably most excited about starting worm bins. How long does it typically take for the worms to break everything down? Is it best to use just one bin or the three stacked bins?
So we're re-doing my room and normally we shop at Home Depot for this kinda stuff but my grandpa has been in the hospital and there is a Lowe's right next door. So today, we bought some paint and shtuff and since my mommy loves me so muh she let me get some flower seeds. I bought and planted...
Yesterday I went to home depot and bought two 72 count Jiffy Greenhouse planty things (I LOVE those), cherry tomato seeds, early tomato seeds, and early cucumber seeds.
I planted those in the Jiffy greenhouse when I got home as well as 3 Giant Pumpkin seeds.
Today I went back to home depot...
I saw one today and I think its a very nice alternative to spending a few hundred dollars on a wooden one. How big do yall think it needs to be? What kinda stuff would grow well on it?
Fresh and canned. We'd just use the canned for the sauces. Snow peas are the besr and probably a little bit of both. I'd want some fresh and then some preserved for later.
We had sweet corn last year and it was great. It really does help with the food bill.
What do I do when it gets cold? :O
