Thank you all for your replies! You cleared up a lot of confusion for me. I'll keep looking into clovers.

    Clover.... I'm confused

I would like to use clover as a cover crop near or in my chicken coop. Is the clover used as livestock feed and everything a different type from the stuff on the lawn? Do they both work? Are they both nutritious for chickens and rabbits?

Looking for your pumpkin, melon, and cantaloupe tips...

We just get super tiny fruits. After reading through everyone's posts, I think it may be because of heavy soil and not starting them early enough. But I started them a month or so early and they are in loose soil right now! Thanks every one for the tips and advice! Good luck in your own gardens...

    Cucumbers

Starting cucumbers inside is really easy and gives them a little boost! I do this every year.

This is a very helpful to know! I think we actually ordered some Blacktail Mountain melons, it will be interesting to see how they do in my area. Thank you for sharing your experience and recommendations!

Thank you all! Maybe it is our soil, we'll give it a test before planting season.

    Gardening in full shade

It's good to hear that leafy greens will grow well there, thank you! This is super helpful, thank you! I love how much you tested and experienced new things! Have fun with your early spring! Our false spring ended with snow, but now real spring has come and we are ready to plant!

    Gardening in full shade

I have an unused area in my yard with great soil and lots of room, but it is shaded. I think it is full shade. Does anybody know of veggies that will grow in full shade? I've heard that lettuce does well.

Experiencing a probably false spring... Anybody else?

I was walking around barefoot yesterday. The temperature is cooler now, but no sign of winter temps or snow. This is just crazy. I hope the weather stays like this, or just gets winter over with. I still think it's too early for spring (I'm perfectly happy with spring! But it is so odd).

My chickens are trying to brood too! But I can't let them hatch or else the whole flock will go broody and I need their eggs for breeding! Yes, let's hope the wildlife are smart enough!

Sorry, it auto-corrected for "fruit" to "four". We have over ten; lots of pears, a couple apples, a couple peaches, a nectoreen, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. They are all too big to cover. Thank you both for the info!
