Hi everybody! I stumbled across this forum today because I was searching for ideas for making a greenhouse. :) I'm really glad I did!

I'm a plant fanatic living in southern Minnesota, where I grow lots of perennials and try my hand at veggie gardening. I am especially fond of clematis and anything blue. :p I'm a full-time working mom to 2 so unfortunately I don't have as much time to garden as I'd like but, well, that's life I guess. IF it wasn't my job keeping me out of the flowers, the mosquitoes probably would anyway.

Nice to meet you all, looking forward to getting to know you better!

Can't wait to see you jump in with pictures and advice for everyone in 2012! No 2 years here are the same, just like our gardens. :D

I'm in zone 4 too, lesa! I had hoped it would have been bumped up to 5a with the new growing zone chart but I'm still on the edge. :( Oh well, I still have a few zone 5 plants making it in my yard just fine, so as long as I don't tell them... *shhh* lol

No, no plans yet. My hubby brought home two huge 5'x5' windows, and can get more, so I was looking for ideas on how to turn them into one.

Right here: recycled/repurposed window, sliding patio door GH, Barefootgardener.

Welcome, Lillie :frow!

I had worked in a large, commercial greenhouse but my 1st backyard greenhouse was a lean-to against a garage made with 5 old storm windows and a door with a window. It had a fiberglass roof. The windows weren't 5' by 5', however! Those are very BIG windows!

A short foundation and a few 2 by 4's should be all it takes for walls. Corrugated fiberglass is what the Barefootgardener also used for her roof. Those panels make thing easier.
