I've had my hands in a bag of potting soil, but I doubt it has the same effect. I've spent the winter forcing bulbs, trying to get my ""fix". The smell of those hyacinths sure helps a little!

I just looked out the window to see what the kids were up to. They're getting their happy on! LOL

It's 55 degrees and sunny today. Ava has decided that it's flip-flop weather.

Happy Spring, ya'll! :D

@journey11 glad to see old man winter is leaving your neck woods as well.
hum lets see 55* and mud....... count me in too.

that is a very interesting article have to agree with it 100%. in years past only gardening spring/summer/fall always find myself in a happier mood after getting home from work watering, weeding harvesting. with nothing growing during winter noticed that my mood was more pointing to seasonal depression sometimes severe.

trying the low tunnel being able to grow through the winter my mood /seasonal depression was almost gone, was a much happier camper according to the dw did have a couple bouts but nothing like the past.

happy happy spring is here again........

That is a very interesting observation, @majorcatfish . I'm glad to hear your experience confirms it. I've kept low tunnels before with spinach, radishes, lettuce and such, although I've been too busy the past couple of years to mess with it and needed a winter break. I think I'll plan on it this fall though. What I'd really love to have someday is a high tunnel. I think we have a couple members on here that use them. I would set up a hammock in there, I think. :D

if we our going to design a high tunnel with a hammock in it might as well add hydroponic strawberries so when you rock you can grab one and add speakers with the sounds of chirping birds.. now that would put my in a very happy place......
