While it is frigid Winter weather elsewhere, I will be watching who has the correct prediction for the week here.

The teevee weather guy says afternoon temps will rise into the 50’sF on Thursday. That would be a record. The Weather Service says, nah, but close.

Maybe some sunshine, soon.

Send some of that warm weather out east here to us, please! We're in the deep freeze still.

I will say that the days have become noticeably longer, and we've had some sunny days this past week which adds cheer even if the sunlight has no warmth yet. Better days are coming!

We have dense fog this morning following the afternoon sprinkles, yesterday. It is right at freezing.

The airport reports that there is .06 of a mile visibility. That is just over 300 yards (290 meters). I couldn't possibly see anything at that distance.

I do not remember ever seeing the airports listing this short of visibility in the past. It may have been that they just started recording these shorter lengths but I really don't know.

a bit of snow last night and today the roads looked too slippery for Mom so she is taking the day off. for which i am glad as the wind is supposed to pick up later and i sure wouldn't want her driving on ice and then getting pushed around by the wind.

i went out and shovelled because the colder temperatures tonight would make the mess even worse than it already is.

the snow was tan colored because it was wet but also because all of the dirt coming off the farm fields in the wind.

the sun is out and it is warm enough at the moment to melt some of the snow that i couldn't scrape off the driveway but i'm not sure it will be warm enough long enough to melt it all.

Mom said i was crazy for going out in my crocs to shovel, but as long as the snow isn't deep enough to get my socks wet my feet stay warm enough from the circulating blood.
