    Amaryllis

You may remember from an old post that I hybridized Amaryllis bulbs many years ago. I had potted them all up together and left them that way for any years. Last summer I repotted the whole lot of them, giving some of the small lingering bulbs more room and a better chance to bloom. Some bulbs...

    Winter indoor tomatoes

Another note. The tomatoes were not any sweeter than grocery store tomatoes. A quick google told me Epson salts in water would improve their sweetness. It could be that we were too anxious to pick them and they were not red enough. A professional expert I know from a local forum said ES was...

    Winter indoor tomatoes

I think that I forgot to show you these. I have 3 toddlers that are often with me or stopping by for a quick tomato. I grew potted Veranda tomatoes by Burpee the last few years. It is just to get a head start on my garden crop. Well the little ones love to pick them and pop them in their mouths...

    Amaryllis

Not long. It will send out roots in the soil. It may not bloom next year because of its' cannibalization. Let in grow putting it outside in the pot in the summer. Fertilize it to rebuilt the bulb for next time. Let the leaves grow lush.

Our seasons and climates are so different, I hope I did not lead you astray. But you were the reason I started some tomatoes in September, planning for ripe tomatoes in my greenhouse for early spring. I have green cherry tomatoes already and my toddler grandchildren are shaking with excitement.

    Growing onions

I would think so, they are so closely related. But my purpose is to keep the leaves from falling over. To make them sturdier.

    Pineapple grown in the greenhouse

I use orchid fertilizer on them. Why? I don't know-it just seemed fitting.

    Pineapple grown in the greenhouse

You probably threw it out just as it was about to fruit. I don't keep track because it takes so long. 2 years maybe to the flower. The flower takes 8-10 months to ripen. Not for the impatient.

    Ducks 4 in '24

After going through all set of troubles like that we put in a shallow well and hydrants. That was the best thing we ever did. But in-between I used those light weight hoses in which 100 feet weighed about 2 pounds when empty. The barn stall for my horse was about 100 feet out and the field was...
