I have seen 4 Bottle Flies this year! A few Robins have been here and there over the last few weeks! A Dandelion is blooming in the neighbor's yard ... i suppose that it will be the inspiration for ones in my yard ...

    Your Weather, 2026

Our weather is supposed to be pleasant and warm. The thermometer made it above 50⁰f (10⁰C) yesterday and just might be heading above 65f (18C) during the next few days! I don't see Long Grove in the morning news but @Carol Dee 's neck of the woods certainly showed up on the weather maps for...

Maybe just a little help would be enough. Yarrow?? Dad had quite a population under a tree in his front yard where...

    Yummy Dinner!

T-bone/Porterhouse. I want that bone! With ribeye, it is a little hard to deal with the bone, if'n it's included. Altho, I suppose that going on a BBQ grill would work fine. Always, bones –– broth for soup and stir-fries :). Steve

Anyone else thinking about adding a greenhouse this spring?

My first backyard greenhouse was homemade and, essentially, a lean-to sunshed. It was built against the south wall of my garage. About 8 1/2 by 5 feet, the growing area was essentially a bench of that length and 3 feet in width. Below the bench was a framed wall of 2 by 4's with exterior wall...
