    Coffee

Look for them "beyond the pale." Rhubarb and Barbarian are related words. Apparently, Latin speakers thought of this plant as coming from those folks from outside the civilized part of the world. Etymologists claim that this is the word origin :D.

What's cooking and what recipe do you have to share today

We have to be careful about the nothing foods. Yes to the oranges! DW was shopping yesterday. Maybe, she wanted to treat me for waiting for her when I had said first that I would go by myself. She bought me 4 donuts. I like donuts. Buuutt, my intention is to eat only one each day. What I...

    A Seed Saver's Garden

Interesting that it is named for the cocktail liqueur. That appeals to me :). Perhaps it is an interesting blend of citrus and licorice flavors. We have "lemon basil" each year. It's a good choice for baked fish and a variation for noodles. Steve

Having a 2nd breakfast of oatmeal with dried cranberries. Uh oh, I can't think of how I could have fancied this cereal up to make it interesting! Well, I have to come up with a pasta choice to go in with some broth, saved chicken meat, celery and carrots – for soup. I know that i will be...

    Your Weather, 2026

Maybe I could add to the above: We have had frosty mornings on some of these sunny days. That includes this morning. Not at all surprising for this location to have such drops in temperature on quiet, still nights. We will be out of frost danger before too long.

    Your Weather, 2026

No 80 degrees Fahrenheit but we did have our first 70f on a sunny 6th of April (21⁰C). Then, the 7th was just as sunny but breezy and the afternoon thermometers never made it above 60f (16C). Yesterday, it was every bit as sunny without any wind but it was 61f for a high (still 16C) ... I...

What Did You Do In The Garden?

Straightened some garden paths. One is curved so straightened might not be the right word. The straight path is so narrow that it could benefit from constant attention. Originally, it was my fault from attempting to maximize the bed widths along the east side of the house and using small...

Interesting that there's now a more crack-resistant Sungold, @Joao . Johnny's says that Sunpeach is also crack-resistant. Steve
