it is a very tough plant. i had one get established in my strawberry patch and taking it out involved digging a hole about 3x3ftx2ft to get at all the roots and remove them.
just don't forget that you'll be watering it during any prolonged dry or hot spells. you want some roots able to get down deeper for those times. is your subsoil going to let roots get down in it easily enough that the peach tree can do that?
