Agreed 100% especially with the first 2.
Had some germination issues, and very late setting fruit. Plus we had deer and rabbit damage to lots of new shoots. They normally don't bother my garden but with things being so dry (I went a month between mowings at times) they ate what they could...
It just sort of happened. My wife has been dealing with a very wicked case of ulcerative colitis. She's currently on her 2nd surgery to manage it with one more to go.
The first one was mid December of last year. It's had its ups and downs. She's 2 weeks today from her most recent one. She's...
Thank you everybody
@journey11 I can't take credit for it. We gifted some to a friend who brought it in her potato salad to a party we had. Never thought to use it that way either till I had it.
We have a fake one. Grew up with real ones even did the U cut for a while. Thing was it became tough to justify the price, the mess (kids, rigs, cats bumping it making needles fall) and maintanence of a real one. Plus I don't miss the needles down my back every time I had to water it.
Real...
I'm alive!!
I appreciate the concerns. My wife's had some health issues and is currently recuperating from surgery so been busy there with that. Plus 3 kids it's been a rodeo.
I literally just finished apple sauce. I made 30-something quarts. And whenever I make that I make apple scrap...
I had the same issues. My garden was atrocious. I got my first ripe early girls in August. What I could get was damaged by rabbits and deer. Pumpkins, tomatoes, beans, it didn't matter. Had it all from poor germination, to damage, to fruits not setting or ripening.
The weather played...
My dog hear fireworks and are looking for the downed bird so he can go fetch it.
Friend had a thunderstorm phobia/fireworks hating dog, it was awful. Crate would get moved to the basement and they'd turn on a radio station that would play that smooth jazz, and just crank it up. No lyrics just...
Lots of reasons that people are homeless. My cousin was for a while now he's got his life back on track and doing well. My brother in law and his wife rode the rails for about a year and a half willingly taking up a nomadic life living in make shift camps and eating out of restaurant dumpsters...
a Mother's birthstone jewelry gift. Given how her health has been we're counting our blessings with the 3 that we have.
So was kicking around a couple of ideas and wanted to bounce this around to see what you think.
At first I did the 3 kids stones
which is what is pictured here. Feb...
Thanks for the info. I've never had an issue with beans before I've always gotten strong germination in the past.
This was my first go round with bush beans since I'd always been concerned about critters eating the blossoms off. Besides we normally were not trying to can a lot of them anyway so...
I went out and cussed at the bush beans. I've tried being nice, I've begged, pleaded, sweet talked, and even threatened them to germinate. Nope. 50' row of Blue Lake bush beans from a very reputable seed company who I regularly use and I've got 4 plants in that row. It wasn't like they started...
Ahh I didn't realize it was 50 birds.
@baymule I'd still be hitting the poultry shows looking for a nice RIR or Buckeye roo
I'm still trying to wrap my head around processing that many cockerels in the Texas heat.
Nobody knows how to cook anymore. So it's no surprise the quality of raw ingredients is bad too. Unless it's out of the freezer section or maybe the deli nobody knows what to do with it.
